An explosion-proof radar level gauge is a liquid level measurement instrument used in flammable and explosive environments.

Working Principle

Similar to a regular radar level gauge, the explosion-proof radar level gauge measures liquid level by emitting and receiving radar waves and utilizing the reflection principle of radar waves on the medium surface. The emitted electromagnetic waves are reflected by the medium surface and then received. By calculating the time difference, phase difference, and other parameters between the emitted and received signals, the distance between the radar installation position and the material surface is obtained, and thus the liquid level height is determined.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation: During installation, avoid interference sources such as feed inlets and agitators to ensure that the radar wave propagation path is unobstructed. The antenna should be vertically aligned with the liquid surface. For special installation requirements, such as inclined installation, angle compensation can be achieved through software adjustments.

Maintenance: Regularly clean the antenna surface to prevent scaling, dust accumulation, and other factors that may affect signal transmission and reception. Additionally, verify and calibrate the data every 6 months to 1 year based on actual usage to ensure measurement stability and accuracy.
