Pneumatic ball valve is one of the most common actuators in industrial automation control systems. It uses compressed air as the power source to achieve rapid opening and closing or proportional regulation of the valve.

To achieve automated control, pneumatic ball valves need to be equipped with the following accessories:

- Limit switch: Used to remotely feedback the open or closed position signal of the valve.
- Air source treatment trio: Filters (removes impurities), reduces pressure (stabilizes pressure), and lubricates (extends the service life of the actuator) the compressed air.
- Manual operation mechanism: Allows manual operation in case of power failure or air source failure.
- Positioner: If the ball valve is to be used for proportional regulation (rather than just on-off), a positioner needs to be installed to precisely control the rotation angle of the ball.
- Switch Control: In almost all industrial fields, such as water treatment, petrochemicals, power, papermaking, etc., it is used for remote on-off control of pipeline media.
- Safety Interlock: Linked with alarm systems for fire, leakage, etc., to urgently cut off material supply (single-acting pneumatic heads are often used).
- Two-position Regulation: In some less demanding situations, for simple "high flow/low flow" switching.
