A pneumatic gate valve is a type of valve that uses compressed air as the power source to control the lifting and lowering of the gate plate to achieve the opening and closing of pipelines. It is a key device in automatic control systems for handling straight-through, fully open or fully closed working conditions.
- Minimal flow resistance: When fully open, the gate is lifted completely above the valve cavity, creating a direct passage with almost zero flow resistance. This is its most prominent advantage.
- Excellent sealing performance: When fully closed, the sealing surfaces can achieve either a hard metal-to-metal seal or a soft seal, ensuring good sealing effect.
- Suitable for high pressure: The structure is robust, and there is no friction between the sealing surfaces during opening and closing, enabling it to withstand high pipeline pressure.
- Unrestricted flow control direction: The medium can flow in from either side without affecting the performance.
- Valve body and gate material: Choose based on medium pressure, temperature and corrosiveness.
- Sealing material: Hard seal (metal) or soft seal (rubber, PTFE).
- Structural form: Rising stem vs. Non-rising stem; Parallel vs. Wedge.
- Actuator: Double-acting vs. Single-acting (fail-safe position).
Pneumatic gate valves are particularly suitable for applications that require full opening or full closing and minimal pressure loss.
