Product Description
The core principle of a pilot-operated solenoid valve is to use the pressure of the fluid itself to drive the opening and closing of the main valve core, while the electromagnetic coil is only used to control a small pilot circuit.
- Small power for large flow control (core advantage): The electromagnetic coil only needs to provide the force to open the tiny pilot valve, so the coil size is small and power consumption is low (usually only 1/10 or even less than that of direct-acting solenoid valves), yet it can control large diameters (from DN20 up to DN300) and high pressures (up to several dozen megapascals) of fluids.
- High cost performance: In large diameter applications, its cost is much lower than that of direct-acting solenoid valves which require huge coils.
- Fast response: Pressure transmission is rapid and the on-off action is quick.
- Diverse forms: It can be designed with various functions (two-way two-port, three-way, four-way, etc.) and different materials to adapt to different media.
- Suitable for clean media, stable pressure and sufficient pressure difference in automated control systems:
- Central air conditioning / refrigeration systems: Control the on-off of chilled water, cooling water and refrigerants.
- Steam systems: Control the on-off of steam pipelines (high-temperature steam dedicated type is required).
- Compressed air systems: Control the power source of pneumatic tools and cylinders.
- Industrial hydraulic systems: As a pilot stage (secondary control) of unloading valves or directional valves.
- Irrigation systems: Automatic on-off control of main pipelines.
Under the condition of meeting its application requirements, the pilot-operated solenoid valve is the most economical and effective choice for high-flow, medium and high-pressure control applications. It represents a perfect combination of efficiency and ingenuity in solenoid valve technology.
