Product Description
A 304 stainless steel thermometer refers to a temperature measuring instrument where the key components such as the casing, dial or probe are made of 304 stainless steel (corresponding to AISI 304 in the American standard and 0Cr18Ni9 in the Chinese standard). This material is the most popular choice for industrial and household thermometers due to its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical strength and relatively economical cost.
- Strong corrosion resistance: It can effectively resist the erosion of water vapor, weak acid and alkali media, and industrial atmospheric environment, and is indispensable in the food and beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Hygienic and safe: The surface is smooth and does not easily breed bacteria, meeting the hygienic requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industries (electrolytic polishing is available, Ra < 0.4 µm).
- Durable and robust: It meets the IP54/IP65 protection grades and can withstand certain mechanical shocks and vibrations.
Stainless steel 304 thermometers are the preferred choice for the vast majority of conventional industrial scenarios. When making a selection, follow the "look, choose, buy" approach:
- Assess the requirements: For ordinary pipelines, choose bimetallic; for vibrating or narrow environments, select pressure type with capillary tubes; for high-standard sanitary applications, choose clamp 316L.
- Verify parameters: Confirm the temperature measurement range (covering -50 to +600°C) and installation threads (NPT/PT/M27*2, etc.).
- Make a decision: If only a rough temperature reading is needed, bimetallic is the most durable option; if remote alarm or control is required, models with electrical contacts or transmitter output must be purchased.
