Refining and Petrochemical Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Unit: PMP55 High-Temperature Pressure Transmitter Replaces Imported Equipment, Ensuring Stable Operation

Project Background:

An 8-million-ton-per-year refining and petrochemical atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit in China operates at a heater outlet temperature of 380°C and pressure of 40 bar. The original imported transmitters frequently experienced drift and diaphragm cracking.

Core Challenges:

High temperature (380°C) + high vibration + crude oil fouling;

Original instruments drifted beyond ±1% within 3–6 months, requiring replacement of over 20 units annually;

High maintenance costs and significant downtime losses.

Selected Product:

Cerabar PMP55-AA21JA1PGCGM—fully welded metal diaphragm, 316L/Hastelloy materials, high-temperature diaphragm (-70…+400°C), SIL2 certified.

Application Results:

Fully welded diaphragm with no gaskets, highly resistant to vibration, achieving zero drift during continuous operation for 14 months;

High-temperature diaphragm directly measures 380°C media without need for trace heating;

Annual replacement reduced to just 1–2 units, maintenance costs decreased by 85%;

Improved accuracy in heater load regulation, increasing unit energy efficiency by 7%.
