Time-Difference Ultrasonic Flowmeter For Efficient Measurement Of Fluid Flow

The time difference method ultrasonic flowmeter is a high-precision non-contact measuring instrument that calculates flow velocity and flow rate by utilizing the time difference of ultrasonic waves traveling in the fluid in the downstream and upstream directions.

Main Features
  • High Precision: It is the most accurate ultrasonic flowmeter, with an accuracy of ±0.5% or even higher, suitable for trade settlement.
  • Wide Range Ratio: It has a wide measurement range, typically over 1:100, capable of meeting the measurement requirements of both low and high flow rates simultaneously.

Installation methods

There are mainly three installation methods for the time difference method:

External clamp type The probe is fixed to the outer wall of the pipe with coupling agent. Non-stop installation, no pressure loss, easy maintenance. Highly affected by pipe material and condition, extremely high installation requirements. Temporary detection, energy audits, processes where shutdown is difficult.
Insertion type A hole is drilled in the pipe and the probe is directly inserted into the fluid. High accuracy, good stability, not affected by pipe wall. Requires shutdown for installation, slight pressure loss, contact with medium. Permanent installation, large-diameter pipes with high accuracy requirements.
Pipe section type The probe is pre-installed on a standard short pipe to form an integrated unit. Highest accuracy, precisely calibrated before leaving the factory, simple installation.    
Measurement medium
  • Clean fluid: Mainly suitable for clean water, pure water, oil, chemical solvents and other liquids without suspended particles or bubbles.
  • High precision requirements: Widely used in water supply companies, industrial circulating water, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and other fields with high measurement accuracy requirements.
  • Extreme working conditions: Some models can withstand high temperatures (-200℃ to 200℃), high pressure and strong corrosive media (such as concentrated sulfuric acid).
