Cast Iron Dry Type Water Meter Anti Freezing Anti Fogging Rotary Wing Digital Water Meter

A dry-type water meter refers to a water meter where the counter (dial) does not come into contact with the water being measured. Its transmission mechanism and counting gears are completely sealed in an independent dry chamber, and the movement of the water flow is transmitted to the counter through the magnetic steel coupling transmission method.

The core feature is that "water flows along its own path and characters follow theirs", with the two being completely isolated.

• Clear and lasting reading: The counter is not affected by impurities, bubbles or scale in water and remains clear and legible all the time. It will not become blurred due to water mist or contamination.
• Relatively good anti-freezing performance: As there is no water in the counting chamber, it is less likely to be damaged by ice expansion at short-term low temperatures (but the casing and pipes still need to be protected from freezing).
• High sensitivity: The magnetic drive has very little resistance and can respond more sensitively to small flow rates.
• Suitable for smart meters: The dry structure makes it easy to install signal transmission sensors (such as photoelectric or Hall elements) on the counter gears, converting mechanical rotation into electrical signals and thus easily upgrading to remote transmission water meters or prepaid water meters.
• Long service life: The gear system operates in a dry and clean environment, resulting in less wear and longer maintenance of accuracy.

This is the key to understanding dry-type water meters:

• Residential household meters (the vast majority of newly installed domestic meters are dry-type or liquid-sealed).
• Independent metering for apartments, office buildings, and shops.
• As the base meter for smart water meters (this is one of its greatest advantages).

Dry-type water meters, with their core design of magnetic coupling transmission and water-digit separation, have perfectly solved the problems of blurred readings and easy contamination of traditional wet-type water meters. They have significant advantages in reliability, readability and intelligent expansion. They have become the standard configuration and basic hardware in the modern water supply metering field, especially during the transition to smart water management. The vast majority of the base meters of the Internet of Things (IoT) smart water meters we see in our daily lives and those that will be deployed on a large scale in the future are based on dry-type or liquid-sealed structures.
